FAQs
Have a question? Our FAQs cover everything you need to know about joining and being part of the Weldon community.
The Child Care Subsidy payment from the Australian government helps families afford the cost of approved childcare services, such as long day care, family day care, and outside school hours care. This enables families to pay lower fees as the CCS covers a proportion of your child’s fees. Feel free to contact one of our friendly team to discuss what this looks like for your family.
We do our best to support all children and families. Our services generally have spots available, but we prioritise children and families with permanent bookings. Casual bookings are available, and where services and days are full we offer waitlist options.
Before School Care & After School Care are provided for children who attend the school only. Vacation Care is open to students from different schools.
We encourage children to move, be creative, and engage in activities with their friends – this is part of our wellbeing approach. Our programs involve external sessions such as football, cricket, tennis workshops, art therapy workshops, and multisports during school terms. Activities at services vary, but are offered based on the feedback from children and families. Our services also provide daily interest-based experiences within the weekly program.
Whilst we do not offer personal tutoring, the children have the option to engage in homework clubs offered during before and after school care.
Our education and care services promote healthy eating and nutrition. This includes having a healthy eating/nutrition policy in place, ensuring food and drinks are nutritious and adequate, and catering to individual dietary needs, including cultural, religious, and health requirements. Children are given regular opportunities to inform our menu choices.
To help all children stay safe and healthy, our programs have procedures in place to ensure all children with specific health care needs or relevant medical conditions are closely monitored and managed accordingly.
We work closely with KU Inclusion Support Officers who help guide and support educators to resources, services, and strategies to best support our children with diverse needs. We support ALL children including those with disabilities, neurodivergence, or other needs to participate fully in their educational, social, and community settings alongside their peers.
