Our Family Support Service works with families across the Inner West of Sydney to build family capacity and enhance the well-being of families and children through the provision of a range of integrated support services focused on delivering positive outcomes for families.
The Summer Hill Service is funded to support and provide intervention to families in response to their unique circumstances and needs. The service aims to support family functioning, increase the use of positive parenting practices, strengthen the relationship between parents and children, improve knowledge about local services and expand families’ supportive social networks.
The Family Support Services available through the program include:
- Case work and case management
- Practical support
- Information and advice
- Advocacy; and
- Referral to other support agencies
In addition, the service offers therapeutic support groups and educational groups throughout the year. These currently include:
- Postnatal Distress Support Group
- Circle of Security Parenting Group
- Musical Beginnings for Mothers and Babies
To access the services the program has to offer, families can self-refer, be referred by a Weldon program or by another community agency.
